Dear Learner,

Re: Emergency First Aid in Rugby Union course (Level 3 RQF EFAW)

at: Your Club (check your ticket for venue address)

on: The date the club has agreed with you (check your ticket for start time)

My name’s Paul and I will be your course leader. My job will be to support you to develop your first aid skills, knowledge and understanding during the course.

This is just a brief message to welcome you to the course and to say that I’m looking forward to working with you.

  • The full day course runs from 9.00 am to 5-00 pm, please arrive by 8-45 am to complete registration, for a 9.00 am prompt start.
  • The 2 evening split course runs from 6.00 pm to 9-30 pm, on both evenings, please arrive by 5-45 pm to complete registration, for a 6.00 pm prompt start.

Please complete the following 3 pre-course online learning modules before the training day;

1·   Headcase concussion module

(approx. 30 minutes to complete)   https://gms.rfu.com/GMS/coursefinder  and select the Headcase concussion awareness training.  Ensure you are logged on to GMS, go to the course finder and purchase the course, it’s free. Once you’ve checked out GMS will send you an email link to take the course. This way it will appear on your GMS account at the end.

2.   An introduction to safeguarding

(approx. 20 minutes to complete)   https://gms.rfu.com/GMS/coursefinder Look for the e-learning introduction to safeguarding course. As above ensure you’re logged on to your GMS account to book and pay for this and the concussion awareness course. They’re both free and once you’ve completed the purchase you’ll be sent a link to your email to follow to take the course.

Once completed both of these courses should appear on your GMS account as completed learning.

If you already have completed these a screen shot of your GMS account is great.
