This workshop has been thoughtfully created to help professionals like you, integrate a range of medical assessment tools, including, Western assessment techniques, Acupuncture, Tuina, and Qi gong.

You will learn innovative treatment strategies, understand the strengths and limitations of various interventions, and develop the skills to identify contra indications and red flags, for acute, sub-acute, and chronic sports injuries.

The course’s objective is to enhance the clinical outcomes for your patients, providing you with additional western clinical assessment tools and TCM skills. In addition, you will explore some of the psychosocial and emotional factors, and practitioner development issues, related to sports injuries, while also learning to strengthen your Qi.

Overall, this workshop offers invaluable insights and knowledge that will help you provide a more comprehensive and holistic approach to patient care.

Face to face course from £98

You will learn how to integrate acupuncture into a multidisciplinary treatment model, treating acute or chronic sports injuries. You will learn useful points, Qigong exercises, Tuina techniques, and new patient handling skills. By the end of the day you should:

  • Be able to assess acute, sub-acute, and chronic injuries
  • Develop your understanding of the patho-physiological processes of acute, sub-acute, and chronic injuries against a paradigm of Western and Eastern medicine
  • Understand the basic patterns of disharmony of sports injuries
  • Develop a better understanding of sports injuries in relation to the TCM and western medical models
  • Covered how to effectively use acupuncture and adjunctive techniques
  • Have learned how to formulate treatment pricnciples,  plans, and point prescriptions
  • Understand when and how to intervene to speed up the client’s injury repair
  • Improve your assessment and treatment strategies
  • Develop further your patient handling skills

The course has been uniquely devised for practising and final year therapists of all disciplines, who hold professional insurances that will cover them for the use of acupuncture within their scope of practice, and who have an interest in developing and enhancing their clinical skills.

  • Acupuncturists (BAcC, BMAS, ATCMA etc.).
  • Osteopaths (Dry needling).
  • Chiropractors (Dry needling).
  • Physiotherapists (AACP).

  • Etc.

A working knowledge of acupuncture (any particular style) is required.

As you progress through the course, your tutor will provide you with regular formative assessments. These are designed to provide you with constructive feedback, instruction, and correction in order to help you thrive on the course.

Your tutor will closely observe your progress and provide you with comprehensive assessments in a professional and supportive manner, as part of the learning process.

You will receive a CPD certificate recognised by your professional asscoaition valid for 14 hours CPD.

We send you a hard copy by post, and an e-certificate electronically for your files.

The course runs over a 1-day face to face clinical training day.
The total qualification / CPD time is 7 hours

Before you attend

  • Refreshments and lunch sadly are not provided.
  • You will need to bring a pen or pencil, we will be providing everything else; full colour course notes, all of the training equipment etc.
  • All participants must be prepared to give and receive treatments during the training, and a must be over 18 years old.
  • If you are fasting for religious or other reasons you must inform the tutor before the course commences.
  • As a participant you must have a sound working knowledge of Acupuncture, any particular style.
  • Due to the practical hands on nature of the course the minimum number of participants is 6.
  • This course may not suitable for women who are pregnant or are trying to get pregnant.
