CPDG infection control

When it comes to maintaining infection control measures in your clinic, there are a number of key factors that need to be considered. These can include;

  • The use of personal protective equipment, such as gloves, masks and gowns.
  • The proper disposal of contaminated waste.
  • The regular cleaning and disinfection of touched surfaces.
  • Washing your hands with soap and water or alcohol gel, after completion of a treatment on each patient, if appropriate, and before the start of a treatment after a break.
  • Your hands and nails must be kept clean and short.
  • Waterproof plasters or surgical gloves must cover any open wounds, cuts or abrasions to your hands or fingers.
  • Food must not be consumed within the clinical area.
