When it comes to maintaining infection control measures in your clinic, there are a number of key factors that need to be considered. These can include;
- The use of personal protective equipment, such as gloves, masks and gowns.
- The proper disposal of contaminated waste.
- The regular cleaning and disinfection of touched surfaces.
- Washing your hands with soap and water or alcohol gel, after completion of a treatment on each patient, if appropriate, and before the start of a treatment after a break.
- Your hands and nails must be kept clean and short.
- Waterproof plasters or surgical gloves must cover any open wounds, cuts or abrasions to your hands or fingers.
- Food must not be consumed within the clinical area.
