In 1958, the Nanjing Army Research Team initiated clinical trials with more than 2,000 patients, and documented the effectiveness of the Nogier method.
This was the origin of Chinese ear acupuncture as it is known today, and approved by the WHO, who standardised points and their locations in 1990. These efforts resulted in a unique model of the ear that’s still in use today.
Interestingly, this auricular model is an integrated French-Chinese version, combining the work of Dr. Nogier, and the discoveries of the Chinese.
