About the course.
This unique introductory course will provide you with the theoretical basis and practical principles of integrating Standing Qi Gong & Five Element QìGōng Tuī Na into your current bodywork practice.
The course is run over 1 day, and has been designed to offer you an overview of Standing Qi Gong & Five Element QìGōng Tuī Ná and the rationale for the use of its techniques.
The practical event will have embedded within it Standing Qi Gong to help develop your Qi, and these exercises are developed throughout the day.

- The basic concepts, theories and skills of Five Element QìGōng Tuī Ná.
- The application of Five Element QìGōng Tuī Ná techniques.
- The appropriate application of combined Five Element QìGōng Tuī Ná techniques, with the monitoring of therapeutic outcomes.
- Diagnostic and treatment methods for common disorders using Five Element QìGōng Tuī Ná The application of Five Element QìGōng Tuī Ná for disease prevention.
- The indications and contraindications to Five Element QìGōng Tuī Ná.
- Each session will have 2 hours of structured Zhan Zhuang Qi Gong giving the essential training for Five Element QìGōng Tuī Ná practice. Regular and appropriately devised exercises have been developed to enhance your constitution to afford the physical and energetic resilience essential for clinical practice.
The day wull include:
- Yi Jin Jing exercises
- Ba Duan Jing exercises
- The five main standing postures & related movements
- The five movements of Qi
- Five Element QìGōng Tuī Ná Techniques
You will learn:
- To be able to use, Five Element QìGōng Tuī Ná Techniques to treat bruises, twists & sprains, easing backs, releasing headaches.
- To be able to assess, which technique to use for particular issues
- To understand how the five movements of Qi can affect the body and be used to treat varying complaints
- How to apply techniques on various body areas.

- Shiatsu practitioners

- Refreshments and lunch sadly are not provided.
- You will need to bring a pen or pencil, we will be providing everything else; full colour course notes, all of the training equipment etc.
- All participants must be prepared to give and receive treatments during the training, and a must be over 18 years old.
- If you are fasting for religious or other reasons you must inform the tutor before the course commences.
- Due to the practical hands on nature of the course the minimum number of participants is 8.
- It is best if you wear loose comfortable clothing as there are many practical aspects to the course.
- Formative assessment throughout the day will take the form of continual observation and feedback, students will receive constructive feedback on all of the techniques demonstrated and practised.

- All participants must have a sound working knowledge of East Asian (TCM) medical theories and channel meridian theories including: Yin-yang, 5 elements, The 12 Zang-Fu organs, Qi, blood and body fluids, Aetiology and pathogenesis.The four diagnostic methods, inspection, auscultation and olfaction, inquiring and palpation. Differentiation of syndromes (identification of syndromes according to the eight guiding principles and zang-fu) and the principles and methods for prevention and treatment.
