More about me
I am currently a Lecturer in Sports, course leading and managing Sports Coaching BTEC level 3. Guiding and leading a large group of students through their BTEC, with the objective to upskill all students to enable them either to work in industry or further progress their education at Higher Education. Recent successes include: 71% of students offered places at their first choice University and 82% of current students working in the industry whilst studying, gaining further paid work experience.
My approach to education is holistic, enabling the students to achieve what they are capable of, by creating an environment where they can achieve their full potential, which will involve going above and beyond for the student or athlete. I can make complicated technical details easily digestible for all students, from complex coaching techniques to difficult sports psychological principles.
Externally from education and after coaching County ladies rugby I have taken on the task of maintaining the league status of my local rugby team, which, so far, has been successful. I am at my most productive working within a team, bouncing ideas off of each other, therefore working in a close-knit team is important to me.
Recently, I have completed a Master’s with the University of Staffordshire in Sports Coaching, after studying a Foundation degree with the University of Greenwich and then topping up to a BA (Hons) degree at the University of Brighton. I have also attained a Diploma in Education and Training from Canterbury Christchurch University and hold Qualified teacher learning and Skills status (QTLS).
