Emergency First Aid at Work - with a focus on Rugby Union
Pre course information
It’s important to note that completion of all of the pre-course courses alone DOES NOT give you a Level 3 first aid qualification.
You must successfully complete the face to face Level 3 first aid award.
England Rugby Learning App
The RFU now (August 2026) have an online platform called England Rugby Learning, available HERE
This is now where you will need to undertake your Headcase, Introduction to safeguarding courses, and the First aid CPD modules.
- On a computer, go to the England Rugby Learning login.
- Log in using the same email / username and password you use for GMS.
- Complete the initial registration and select your rugby roles / learning preferences.
- Once that is done, you can download / open the England Rugby Learning app and log in with the same account.
- Your learning activity and qualifications should then be connected back to your GMS record.
- Log in through the web browser first before downloading / using the app.

Active First Aiders Badge - (2 parts)
For the face to face course the first 4 first aider modules are the ones that will help me deliver a more rugby focussed session to you.
Headcase concussion module (for first aiders)
This should take 30 minutes to take.
This forms part of the 6 player welfare modules.
An introduction to safeguarding
This should take 30 minutes to take.
You will need to have this course before you apply for your RFU DBS.
